J’Moris is a rapper and storyteller creating out of Hillsboro, Texas. His life experiences form the basis of what he writes, and his ability to play with tone, pacing, and language comes together to create tracks that stay with you.

“Blac Love” is one of these songs. The single features J’Moris rapping movingly over an effected vocal hook. The content is confessional and emotional — a tribute to black women and to the opening up that love requires. “Love is not a game, but I still need you coaching me,” J’Moris admits. When the track slows, the emotions dive deep.

On the flip side, “Ball” provides an energetic contrast to “Black Love”. The vibe here is darker and sinks its hooks in. The pulse is rollicking and lively. Here, themes of perseverance — both financially and in the face of social hardship — carry the meaning. Layered vocals build the track in scope, shaping a track that is crafted with expertise.

J’Moris has released five EPs, five singles, and a full-length album that you can check out here. To hear more from J’Moris, you can find him on his website, SoundCloud, and Facebook page. You can also follow him on Twitter for more music and news.
