The first thing that strikes you as “Trouble” begins is the wall of guitar sound. These amps are turned up and ready to rock. The hook catches you next, made prominent by the grand vocal range of Jordan White. Jane N’ The Jungle are back with another rock’n’roll jam.
“Trouble” was written by the three members of Jane N’ The Jungle: Jordan White on vocals, Brian Dellis on guitar, and Bryan Dague on bass. There is a playfulness amidst the serious running-for-your-life tone of the track. “The time has expired / better start the show” opens up the song in a moment of meta. White’s incredible control over her voice shines, though the wash of instruments give the track a room-filling power.
The accompanying clip is just as gritty as the song. The band is cast in red light, rocking out for the camera. These shots are cut against a minimalistic storyline of White running away and eventually being caught and interrogated. Trouble certainly finds her in the end. Gowns, leather, and guitar movement set a tone that finds the luxury in the messy. In many ways, “Trouble” gives you the escape that the song describes.
