Baton Rouge, Louisiana’s Suicideyear has a reputation for having a very precise ear for upcoming rap talent. Having collaborated on tracks in the past with the early-in-their-career versions of Rome Fortune, Denzel Curry and Yung Lean, he has now enlisted gritty West London emcee K9 to spray over atmospheric trap instrumental “Scarr”.
Proclaiming the track with “LONDON TO LOUISIANA!”, K9 proves his dangerous versatility with an increasingly aggressive syllable-rate over Suicideyear’s brutal creation. 2014 brought us the massively underrated “Mad In The Cut” EP from K (co-produced by London beatsmiths Dark0, Visionist, Plato and Mssigno) which proved him to be perhaps the most honestly brutal Grime artist on the scene. K9 is now expanding his boundaries across the pond, and we very much look forward to possible future collaborations!
